spilled milk earrings
These earrings are woven from some of my favorite beads of all time: rare antique French beads that are delightfully irregular in shape. I think this is partly because they were made in a time when modern manufacturing methods didn't exist, but also because glass slowly changes shape over time. Did you know it's actually classified as a liquid? If you look at the wavy glass windows of a house that's at least a hundred years old you can see that glass changes shape with time, albeit very slowly.
Because of this, these earrings feel like a living thing to me, something that reminds me that nothing stays the same forever. As the saying goes, we will never pass this way again.
